Palestine Forerunners German Post - Ramle Reinhardts Hotel. Registered cover via Jaffa to Erfurt Germany. Cover mailed by the Reinhardts Hotel (Oval handstamp on back) with "Aus Ramleh (Palestina)"  cachet. Both the Aus Ramle & the Hotel cachet are in the same peculiar shade of Violet. This gives further evidence that the cachet was applied at the Hotel. The cover transfered to Jaffa where the stamps of 2 Piastre & 1 1/2 Piastre cancelled 17.3.1907 & registered label #641 added. Erfurt Germany arrival postmarks on back 23.3.1907. Mr. Reinhardts of the Reinhardts Hotel acted as an auxiliary agent. The fact that the cachet is known also on parcel cards points to the fact that this is was not one of the usual collecting points (Mail boxes Etc.). It is obvious that Hotel reinhardt serve as a postal depository and collecting station. Thus contrary to general practice, the cachet applied at the Hotel and not at the reloading station near Jaffa (Reference 1990 Steichele The Foreign post offices in Palestine 1840-1918 Catalog Volume I, page 78) VF & Rare.

Palestine Forerunners German Post - Incoming registered cover from Holland to Jerusalem, addressed to  Moritz Wallach (a Known Jewish Doctor, founder & director of Shaarei Tzedek hospital on Jaffa road) . Franking of Queen Wilhelmina 10c & 25c stamps. Tied by Amsterdam p/ms 16 June 1905 with Jerusalem German post arrival p/m on back 1/7/1905.  Bottom back flap open uneven, otherwise VF.                                                      

Palestine Forerunners Russian Post - Jerusalem to Brooklyn New York USA.  UPU type postcard with color view of BethLehem girls. Frank pair of 10 Para overprinted  Russian stamps, tied by single circle postmarks (Steichele type 643) dated 23.12.1904 with  New York transit p/m January 21 1905 & Brooklyn NY arrival p/m January 22 .VF.

Palestine Forerunners Turkish Post - Jaffa To England via Egypt. Retta Diamond shape cancellation tied to 20 Para Turkish stamp alongside Port Said Egyptian transit postmark 25 April 1901.  The Retta cancellation was used in Port Said found on mail originate in Palestine. The mail was dropped in the mail box on beside ships docked at the Jaffa harbor, the mail transfer by ship to Port Said, postmarked there & forewarded to the next destination. A long English written message dated April 24 (1901) on back. This card with few creases, otherwise F-VF & scarce. Bale catalog value $ 1500.00
